Floral Distressing

Hello again.  Time for my Tuesday installment.  Today is a bit different.  I love techniques and spend a great deal of time "playing'.  My favorite application is to make backgrounds, so that is what I did.
Take a look at the card, and I will share the process.
This card was made with just backgrounds and then the image was stamped and colored.  Both the focal image and the background was the mostly the same inks but on different papers.

Here is the background that is hard to see on the finished card.  Using distress stain, I placed them in puddles on my craft mat.  This group is Abandoned Coral, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feather, Frayed Burlap.  Then in the center of all of these stains added picket fence and ran Water Color paper through the puddles.  In this instance the paper was wet.

For the tag, I did the same, but on a manilla tag.  Inks were: Abandoned Coral, Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber with Picket Fence Stain.  The tag was dry and I quickly dried to keep the Picket Fence "White".  Then I stamped in a black Pigment ink with this stamp:Black Eyed Susans and colored them carefully, just to enhance the color but stay with the basic background palette.
The Picture does not do this card justice.  It finishes as an A2 size, top folding.  Perfect for any occasion.

An Old Fashioned Floral Card

Josette here with my Tuesday Card.  This card is simple as well.  I created the background with pink and silver glimmer mist, added a touch of teal, and cut down.  Using a punch Created a doily.
The focal image was colored with Distress Markers, die cut and mounted onto a black card stock that was fussy cut using the die cut as the pattern.

No sentiment required.
This is an example of a simple card that is easy to mail.

Technique Focus: Resist Stamping and Pigment Powders

Hello, Josette here with another Tuesday card.  Todays card is a bit different.  It involves a technique that has been around for a while with a new twist.  So let's look at the card:

This photo does not do the card justice.  Here is another shot, double click to see detail.
So this technique is very simple.  Stamp the images in embossing powder and heat emboss.  Then using a pigment powder, sprinkle on the image, spritz with water to activate and let dry.  Once dry, place between  a folded piece of computer paper, and either heat with iron, or in my case I ran it through my MINC to remove the embossing powder.  In some instances I go back and color the image or enhance it, but with this card I left it be.  Mounted in onto a black A2 card base and let it be.

On my blog there is a detailed instruction of this technique: Here

All of the supplies are available at Sweet Stamp.  Any pigment powders will work,  I used a product by ColourArt, but there are many on the market.

Thank you for stopping by,
Until next week,
Happy Crafting ,
