Trellis on a Wall

Check out this great brick wall I created for today's Globecraft Piccolo card.  Using the newly released Sweet Stamps Art Stencil Stone Path and White Embossing Paste  I created my background and then while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled Piccolo Brownstone Enamel and then let it dry for 2 hours.  Once it was dry, I heat embossed it and look at the fabulous bricks!  Be sure to click on the picture for a closer view of this wonderful enamel.

I die cut my Cheery Lynn Designs Trellis; heat embossing it with Piccolo Aged White Enamel.  I added both the Right and Left Mini Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn.  Then added a couple of Piccolo Dragonflies Accents, using Piccolo Girls Night Out Enamel for the smallest and Turquoise Lagoon Enamel for the larger.  I added a coat of Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to my dragonflies; it makes them a bit more flexible and easier to shape the wings.   Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Halloween Tag

For my project today, I have created a fun Halloween gift tag.  I began with the newly released Sweet Stamps Art Stencil Going Batty and Black Embossing Paste.  This give the bats wonderful raised dimension.  I added some random Piccolo Purple Mist 3D Enamel Gel dots between the bats.

I love using my Cheery Lynn Designs Poinsettia Strip for Halloween flowers.  I die cut them from 3 papers and then coated each petal with some Glastique.  This gave them a wonderful glossy shine and made them easier to mold.  I used Piccolo Shamrock Dreams Enamel on my Medium Flourish Accents and the Cheery Lynn Designs Happy Halloween.  Adding a spiderweb ribbon finished off the tag.  I hope this inspires you to get your crafty supplies out and create.

Haunted House and Graveyard

Here is a fun dimensional card I made using Piccolo Haunted House Accents and Haunted Graveyard Accents.  These are such fun sets for those crafters who love Halloween as I do!  This card will fold flat and measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches.  I used three different embossing enamels on this project:

House and Fencing - Vintage Black
Tombstones - Aged White (added a touch of Black Soot Distress ink)
Grass - Mossy Glen

For the Gnarly Tree, I used a combination of Burnt Umber and Mars Black 3D Enamel Gels.  I also used the Mars Black to create the steps leading up the hill.

For this pic you can see all the parts that create the scene.  You just make long rectangles any size you need, adhere them to the back and bottom of the card stock and they will fold forward when you close the card.  You just have to make sure your items are not too tall when closed.

I added a bit of yellow card stock behind the House to simulate candlelight.  And for the great background, I used the newly released Art Stencil Going Batty from Sweet Stamps.  I used painter's tape to mask off the bats I did not need and then applied Black Soot Distress ink.  I added a bit of distressing around the edges as well.  The Happy Halloween is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I hope you enjoy my card,  I had great fun creating it.

Vintage Black Enamel

My Piccolo project for today features Vintage Black enamel.  I love the beautiful mix of black, silver and gold in this enamel.  It is such a rich color.  Please ignore the plum tones to the above picture, it was taken inside under lamplight and I am unable to adjust the color.  In real life this is warm gray/taupe color.  I used the gorgeous French Oval Piccolo as a backdrop, adding a Vintage Dress Form Piccolo.

This picture is more the true color.  I added an insert to my French Oval Frame on which I stamped Sweet Stamps French Writing with Black Soot Distress ink, then shaded the oval.  On my card base, I stamped a Flourish and again added ink around the edges.   The lovely lady, Sasha, is a new release Glam Girl from Sweet Stamps.   I thought she was perfect for this card.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Dragonfly Thank You

My card today showcases the new Piccolo Dragonfly Accents as well as one of the new Fancy Labels.   I heat embossed my large Dragonfly's wings with Turquoise Lagoon enamel then added a light layer of Mermaid Tears enamel for some opalescence.  For the body, I used Deep Blue Sky enamel then added a good layer of Instant UV Resin for a glass-like finish.   For the smaller Dragonfly, I heat embossed just with Mermaid Tears.  I used Aged White enamel on the ATC Bubble Background

For my label, I began with Deep Blue Sky enamel and then gave it a coat of Mermaid Tears.  It is a wonderful shimmery dusky blue.  These enamels combine so beautifully.  The last step was the Thank You from Sweet Stamps.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Piccolo Fun in the Sun

One of the new releases from Globecraft Piccolo this month is the At the Beach Accents.  You get a lot of pieces in this set and can create lots of fun in the summer projects.  I used the palm tree island as the main focus on my card.  Using a paint brush, I painted Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid on just the island portion and heat embossed it using Brownstone Enamel.  Love the flecks of white and dark brown in this powder; I thought it made a good beach.  Painting just the palm fronds, I heat embossed them with Mossy Glen Enamel.  For the tree trunks, I added Burnt Umber 3D Enamel Gel.

To create my little scene, I used my Sweet Stamps Tropical Getaway clear stamp set.  First I created a horizon line with a mask and then  using my Copic makers, B00 and B01, I added the water.  Next I stamped the sun in the sky and colored with my Copic Y15.  I glued my island down on the card stock and then stamped the fronds in the foreground, coloring them with Copic G24.

I stamped a few birds in the sky and then using Cheery Lynn Designs Tags 2, I created the little Fun in the Sun tag.  My last step was to add a drop of Turquoise 3D Gel Enamel to the tag.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Santa's Midnight Flight

For my Piccolo card today, I have used The Night Before Christmas Accents set.  I applied Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid to the sleigh and reindeer and then heat embossed with Piccolo Siam Silver Embossing Enamel.  Just look at all that sparkle!

For my background, I used a wonderful deep blue metallic paper with lots of sparkle.  I die cut a circle which I dry embossed with my Cheery Lynn Cheetah embossing plate.  I thought it looked like craters on the moon.  Along the bottom of the card, I added Cheery Lynn's Winter Neighborhood border.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Butterfly Wall Decor

For my Globecraft Piccolo project today, I have created a Butterfly Wall Decor using one of the frame kits.  I used glue to adhere my DP to two of the layers of my frame.  I sanded the edges for a bit of rustic look.  For the outer frame, I applied Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid and then heat embossed it with Piccolo Ruby Red Slippers Enamel.  I also embossed the largest butterfly from the Butterfly Accents set with Ruby Red and the smallest butterfly in the set with Piccolo Real Rust Enamel.  You can actually bend the wings of the butterflies up for some added interest.

Piccolo Vintage Clock Necklace Set

Sandy with you today and I have created a lovely pendant using my Piccolo Vintage Clock Necklace Set.  This is a fun set and I think it would make a good key chain fob as well.

I began by coating the base with Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid and then heat embossing with Deep Blue Sky Enamel Powder.  I did this on both sides, holding it with tweezers when I heated the back so I did not mess up the front embossing.  I used Micro Gold for the clock face and the pendulum.  I wanted the round center in the face of the clock to look like glass, so I added a few layers of Instant UV Resin.  You can't see this in the photo, but it really is a cool effect.  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Tree Ornament

I love it when July rolls around because that means I can make Christmas projects again!  Today I am using my Globecraft Memories Christmas Tree Ornament set.  You get a center ring to which the tree is attached, 2 globes and 2 more rings to place over the globes.  I chose to make my ornament two sided rather than creating a background with my second globe.  I began by coloring the large ring with Carmine Red 3D Stamp Paint, on both sides.  Then I heat embossed the tree using Piccolo Mossy Glen Embossing Powder.  Once the first side was cool, I applied embossing powder to the other side, used tweezers to hold the ornament in the air while I heated the powder.  That way the reverse side did not get messed up.  The heat can go through the chipboard and soften the other side, so let it cool before setting it back down.  I then used the same process on the bottom of the tree using Piccolo Ultra Thick White.  I left it chunky so it looks like snow.  I added some Gold 3D Stamp Paint to the star on top of the tree and some gems as decorations.

For the two outer rings, I used Piccolo Vintage Gold.  I love the texture of the enamel, it is so old world gold.  I applied a light coat of Ultimate Glue to one of the globes and then set it down on the red ring.  I used one of the gold rings to press it down and make sure it was straight.  I then applied glue to the gold ring and set that down over the globe.  I used some clamps to help it set up.  Then I repeated the process on the other side.  The last step was to add some Medium Holly and Berries.  I heat embossed the Holly with Mossy Glen and used gems as my berries.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to create!

Vintage Lock and Keys Necklace

For my Piccolo project today, I have created a cool necklace using the Vintage Lock and Keys Necklace set.

Using Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive, I heat embossed the base with Vintage Black Enamel.  For the lock, I used Vintage Copper (love that green patina look).  I added a small Gear for a bit of interest below the circle of the lock.  Be sure to click on the picture above for a closeup of the beautiful enamels.

I wanted my keys to be a bit larger so I used three from the Mini Keys 1" Charms set.  These were also heat embossed with Vintage Copper Enamel.  Finished size is 5 inches.

On the Hunt

For my card today, I have used a couple of Piccolos from the new On the Hunt Accents.  You get 9 pieces in this set.  I chose to keep the chipboard color for my pieces, I used Micro Clear embossing powder to give the pieces a bit of gloss.  The panel behind the deer is the cast off piece from last week's project.  I glued it down to a piece of card stock and then trimmed around the edge.

I added some  Burnt Umber 3D Enamel Gel accents to embellish the corners as well as around the oval.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Mini Bubble Frame Kit with Flowers

This is one of the make and takes from May's Mega Meet Convention in Novi, Michigan.  I thought I would take you through the steps to create it.  We had quite a line of crafters waiting to make one of these.

You begin with the Globecraft Mini Bubble Frame Kit with Flowers.  You get a back piece, a frame, a mini clear globe and a flower piece.  Don't throw the outer piece from the flower away, it can be used as a frame in other projects if you cover it with card stock.

I began by stamping Sweet Stamps French Script with Shades French Roast dye ink onto the back piece.  Then using a piece of cut and dry foam, sponge French Roast around the edges of the oval bringing the ink in towards the center.  You can lay the globe on top of the backing to test if you have moved your ink in far enough.  Apply Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive to the frame and heat emboss with Piccolo Copper Kettle Embossing Enamel.  Set this aside to cool.

Now take your flowers and with a paint brush, apply Enamel Powder Adhesive to only the stems and leaves of the flowers.  Once the you have the adhesive applied, heat emboss with Piccolo Mossy Glen Embossing Enamel.  Paint the flower petals with your choice of Piccolo 3D Enamel Gels, I have used Daffodil Pearl for the petals and Orange for the centers.  You could also add a gem for the flower center.  The last piece is the medium butterfly from the Piccolo Butterfly Accents, which I heat embossed with Piccolo Vintage Copper. Love the green patina accents in the enamel.  Then simply assemble your globe; I used Ultimate Glue to adhere all the pieces.  It holds well and sets up quickly.  If you just set the frame on the back piece, it will give you and idea of where to place your flower and your butterfly.  Then remove the frame and glue down the globe.  Quickly set the frame on top and you can move the globe slightly if needed to center it.  Then glue your frame on top of the globe and you are finished.  These are a lot of fun to make.

Happy Birthday with Piccolo Accents

Sandy here with you filling in for Angela, she is having some computer woes.  For today's card, I have used the newly released Piccolo Cock a Doodle Doo Accent.  I applied Enamel Powder Adhesive only to the fence and heat embossed it with Aged White Enamel.  Love the weathered look of this enamel.  For my rooster, I applied 3D Enamel Gels Deep Red, Burnt Umber, Orange and Ultramarine, then used a straight pin to drag some of the gel out to make it look like feathers.  I added a large Cheery Lynn Designs Sunflower and some Mini Fanciful Flourish accents.  The last step was my Happy Birthday sentiment.  Finished size is 5.75" square.

On the Hunt

My card for today uses one of the elements from the newly released Piccolo On the Hunt Accents.  I have embossed this wonderful deer silhouette with Victorian Bronze and mounted it on the dropout from the Mini Bubble Frame Kit with Flowers.  The flower comes in an oval and I simply glued paper down to cover the hole from the flower.  A great way to use up those left over pieces of chipboard.

Just check out all the great elements you get with this set, perfect for those manly cards.

As a final accent, I added a Braided Border Accent also embossed with Victorian Bronze.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Rodeo Accents

Here's a fun card for the cowboy in your life using the newly released Piccolo Rodeo Accents.  You get a total of 8 pieces of chipboard in this set.

I chose to use 3 of the smaller pieces, coloring them with Carmine Red 3D Stamp Paint.  This is such a quick project to complete.  I used a Sponge Dauber to apply the ink which gives it some nice texture.

For my border accent, I used the new Piccolo Braided Border, you get 8 of them in the set.  It is a wonderful chunky border, perfect for that guy card.  Again, I colored it with my stamp paint.  Finished size is 6" square.

Vintage Black Weathervane

Sandy here today with a center step card showcasing the newly released Weathervane and Braided Borders Piccolo Accents.  The great thing about using Piccolos to embellish your card is they lay flat and so it is very easy to mail them.  Be sure to click on the pics for a larger view to see how gorgeous these embossing powders really are.

I began with my Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card die and Graphic 45's French Country 12 x 12 papers.  I love how easy it is to whip out a card with this die.  It cuts not only the card base but all the individual panels as well.  For my Piccolo Accents, I wanted it to look like weathered cast iron.  So I used my Piccolo Vintage Black Enamel.  It is such a great mix of black, gold and silver; the perfect aged look.  And of course, I had to use my favorite French Oval Frame embossed with Mossy Glen to showcase my weathervane.  Finished size is 5 5/8" square.

A2 Album Page 1

Sandy here with you today.  Last week I showed you the cover of an A2 Album that I am working on.  This is the first inside page of my album.  I began with another beautiful French Oval Frame for my image, which I embossed with Victorian Bronze Enamel.  I added a Butterfly Accent colored with Copper 3D Stamp Paint.  I stamped a couple of embellishments with my new Sweet Stamps Creative Corners Set 5.

For the left side, I created a journaling square framing it with Vintage Corner Flourishes embossed with Victorian Bronze Enamel.  I added a few more accents below from the Steampunk Airship Accents set, also embossed with Victorian Bronze.

I love the elegance of the French Oval Frame.  I think it is perfect for this vintage image.  This is my first attempt at an album like this and hopefully I can get less structured in the coming pages, lol.

Globecraft A2 Album

Sandy with you today.  Here is a peek at a new Globecraft set that will be in the store soon.  It is actually a picture frame but I wanted to make it into an album.

The set comes with 3 of each of the pieces you see above, including the globes (a total of 3 frames).  The outer dimension is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.  A tip when assembling these; make sure your hands are clean when handling the globe or you will get fingerprints.  If you do, just clean gently with some window cleaner and it will be back to new.

For my album, I used two Piccolo embossing powders; Girl's Night Out and Starry Sky.  I added a French Oval Frame, also embossed with Starry Sky for an elegant look.  Inside the dome, I have Large Floral Daisy Accent, which I colored with Rose Pearl and Avocado 3D Gel Enamel.  The butterfly is from the Butterfly Earrings set which is on clearance.  I colored it with Gold 3D Stamp Paint, adding some black accents with a Copic markers.

I love the rich look of the embossing powder and look forward to filling my album with happy memories.
