Spring.....

I love spring. I love Kraft paper.

I also love gift tags.

So here's my offering for this week.

I covered a tag base with a metallic swirl paper.

Then using my Flourish stamp set, I stamped and embossed with Java Sparkle Powder.

I also covered a Butterfly Charm with the powder. I used glue for this and treated the powder like glitter.

I then die cut three paper butterflies and three solid tulle bases for them using the Small Flutterby Die.

I stacked the tulle and die cuts and glued them in place, adding flat backed pearls. After these dried, I flexed the wings, giving them some dimension.

Tied on a bag, this is a beautiful accent tag.

Have A Beautiful Day

Good morning everyone-
Happy Saturday everyone!! We are having great weather today, but are expecting rain this evening!!
So we will be trying to enjoy it as best as we can!!
This weeks challenge at Sweetstamps is:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

For my card today, I am using Daisy Swag, which I stamped on kraft cardstock using white dye ink.
Once the ink dried, I colored the image using my neglected Prismacolor pencils.  I took the dye white ink and inked the edged of the card base, as well as the sentiment panel.  I used an oval die cut to create the negative space, in which the sentiment was stamped in.  Decorated with some twine and a button!!  Putting the card together was easy, but the coloring is what took the longest.

2 Stencils 2 Ways

Happy Friday!!!  As always on Fridays it's Lisa here with a fun card I've created using two different stencils two different ways...

Supplies Used:

To create this card I used two different stencils and two different techniques.  The first stencil, Stone Path was gone over with various distress inks for a brick look.  I then layered this with a second stencil, Cross My Flower and went over it with embossing paste.  Now this wasn't gold embossing paste, but I wanted the look of gold so I created my own!  I used clear embossing paste mixed with gold perfect pearls and viola!  I wish you could see the shine in person.  I then trimmed my sentiment and stamped it on various bricks, added some embellishments and paper layers.

Make sure you stop by to check out our latest challenge for your chance to win a gc!!!  Woo hoo!!!  This weeks challenge is: Happy Birthday!!!!  All products are welcome!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing weekend!!!
Happy Crafting!

Happy Bokeh Birthday

Shelly here with wishes for a Happy Bokeh Birthday!

I have been seeing cards using this Bokeh technique, and you know me- I had to try it!
How to:
1)Spritz watercolor paper with water
2)Apply Distress inks to craft mat. I used Spun Sugar, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters and Dusty Concord.
3) Using a Paint brush or waterbrush, apply the colors to your paper in a random pattern. I applied the colors lightest to darkest.  Dab with paper towel if the paper is too wet or if puddles form- so the colors do not get muddy. The colors will lighten up when they dry.
4)Allow the watercolor paper to dry- or use a heat gun to dry it.
5)Punch out a stencil using paper punches or dies- I used cardstock for my stencil.
6)Using the lightest, mid color and darkest color, sponge on circles of color-again lightest to darkest- try to overlap the colors a touch. I added circles in various sizes, but try to remember that odd numbers are appealing to the eye- so sponge 3-5-7 circles of a particular color.
7) Tap on white ink thru the stencil. I  started with the largest circles and used lighter white on the largest circles and got darker with the white as the circles got smaller. I used watered down Gesso for the smallest circles.  I was also careful to dab on scrap paper to make sure there was no ink lifting onto my dauber that would get my white dye ink pad 'dirty'.
8) Add your stamped design
 * A tip I learned from Michelle Zindorf- to emboss using a color- stamp the color ink onto your stamp, then ink with clear embossing ink. Stamp onto cardstock, add embossing powder, then Viola- I quickly use a paper towel to wipe off the colored ink off my embossing ink- but it may have some staining. So, I have a 'clean' embossing ink pad and a 'dirty' embossing ink pad.

I colored the cake with Copics Y11, G21, G24, R43, R46 and "0".  I added Stardust Gelly Roll Pen frosting and WInk of STella 025 Pink on the Cherry.

Products I used from the Sweet Stamps Store:

Irises

Here's a very clean and simple card from Roxie using the Irises image and Copics for coloring.  And here's hoping the card is a reminder to all our readers located in the COLD regions of the country that spring will be here - someday!  Stay Warm and keep stamping!

Scor-Pal was used to create the line around the image.
The border was cut using the Perfect Layers from Perfect Paper Crafting, these tools make cutting the borders so much easier and I can also cut a smaller border using the same ruler just by slanting the craft knife tip towards the ruler.

Images: SweetStamps -Irises, Tiny Happy Day

Paper: Beckett Expressions Radiance for image, Bazzill - white textured, smooth Raspberry Splash

Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Eyelet Outlet & Brads - corner gems, smaller gems are unknown, Paper Glaze to attach gems, foam tape to pop up the image panel

Tools: Perfect Paper Crafting - Perfect Layers, Perfect Cutting Mat, Xacto craft knife, Scor-Pal

Donna K with you today sharing a fun little card.
I had to have the By The Sea Accents as soon as I spotted those in the shop.
I love this fish...so vicious and so FUN.

I think a note card like this is sure to make someone smile.
