Blank Butterfly Note

Hello everyone!
Donna K here with you today sharing my Blank Butterfly note card.
I love having cards like this on hand for any occasion when I'm in a pinch.
I was quite pleased with the way my background turned out when using
the rounded squares stencil with the soft Spun Sugar ink
....and those silvery butterflies are so pretty in person.
I wish my lighting had been better for this photo but you get the idea.
Thanks for letting me share today...and for taking time to view our projects
throughout the week!
Be sure to join our Pink, White and One other challenge.
You have all week....just scroll down to yesterday's post for the link up.

Sing Me the Blues

A sweet friend has a birthday soon and I needed a card for her. I called this Sing Me the Blues because she loves blues and jazz.

I stock up on blank cards when I have a coupon so these started to coordinate with the chevron card base.

I stamped a textured card stock with the Love Bird Collage and Aquamarine Ink.

Then I die cut the lower corner using the Mini Medallion SweetCuts die. I backed the  negative  space after embossing it with Bahama Aqua powder. I applied Enamel Adhesive around the area with my fingertip before applying the powder.

I attached to the card blank and then embellished the openings. I used a stack of buttons for one and the medallion from the die back into the other.

Have a great week.

With Sympathy

Hello!  Lisa here today and I am sharing a way to make your stencil patterns softer...  Sympathy cards are sometimes the hardest to make, but are sometimes needed.  This card uses some stencil and embossing, but all of it is toned down for a softer effect...

By simply added the vellum, the whole card takes on a softer feel.  To create my stenciled panel I started by going over the stencil with purple distress ink.  I then flipped the stencil upside down and went over it with a soft blue distress ink.  I then embossed the floral images in gold, and layered it vellum and an embossed sentiment.  Tip: vellum is hard to adhere without leaving spots, but use embellishments as I have done to hide these spots.

Love and Roses

I had fun with a Shaving Cream background and the Roses from the Live, Laugh, Love Roses set.  I stamped the Roses a 2nd time on Specialty paper called Silver Lustre (Paper Temptress) and colored them with Distress Markers).
I added some Globecraft and Piccolo accents embossed in Aged White. The die cuts were also cut using the Silver Lustre shimmery cardstock. And, I had a few heart sequins on my desk, so they also scored a place on my card.

Products I used from the SweetStamps store:

Treat Birdhouse

Happy Wednesday from Roxie!  My daughter found the pattern for this little birdhouse on Pinterest and asked if I could make a couple for her daughter's pre-school teachers for Valentine's Day, I did and just because they're so cute I wanted one for myself for any occasion!
It's very easy to create but the pattern didn't have the roof pieces large enough for the house so after assembling the body I measured and made mine 1/2" wider and longer than the house top which actually ended up being a square cut.
The original post/pattern has been replaced with a purse pattern so I linked my Pinterest page here.  This house was enlarged about 3/4" inch.

Here is the open view.

Challenge #207 - Love is in the Air

Hello Sweet Stamp Friends!
Happy Monday!!

Time for another weekly challenge!

Our theme this week is....
Love is in the Air
Perfect challenge, with Valentine's Day right around the corner!!

First up, it is a new month, so we have a new Guest Designer!!

Meet Guest Designer....
Vicki
“Hello friends!  I’m so excited to be joining with you all this month as a guest designer for Sweet Stamps!  I have been stamping for several years and I have enjoyed meeting many other crafters from all over the world through my blog.

My stamp style has really evolved over the years and can get random at times.  At the moment, I have really taken an interest in the more CAS (clean & simple) style of stamping.  I enjoy many different techniques with different media in my stamping as well.  I do enjoy to scrapbook for my family along with this.

When I’m not stamping, I do enjoy spending time with my family.  I have two college aged boys and a very wonderful supportive and caring husband who works so hard for all of us.  I also like to bake, garden, read and snuggle with my sweet pet doxie.

I hope that you enjoy all of the creations that I’ll be sharing with you this month!”

Be sure to check out her blog for more info on your beautiful card!!

Missing a loved one

It's close to Valentine's Day and I know of many who will not be with loved ones on this special day.

I've chosen a sentiment from Sketches From the Shore set. Simply stamped in Rustic ink.

I added the Heart and Key from the Keys to my Heart Piccolo set. The heart was embossed in Autumn Splendor and the key in a mixture of Micro Black and Vintage Gold.

I used a circle negative to frame the heart and the Mini Flower and Elegant Leaves dies to cut embellishment for the opening.

Ready to add your heartfelt words.

have a wonderful day.
