Vintage Jewelry

Charlotte here and I am sharing a fun, fast and super easy necklace and earring set using the Piccolo Vintage Flourish decorative chipboard charms.  I am a scrapbooker and altered artist and I have never attempted making jewelry. When the new Piccolo charms arrived, I knew I would give jewelry making a try. By combining the Piccolo charms, metallic powder and enamel powders, you can create easy beautiful fool-proof enameled jewerly in minutes.

Supplies

Supplies
Globecraft Memories
Piccolo Vintage Flourish Chipboard Charms
Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive
Piccolo Siam Silver Metallic Powder
Piccolo Fine Black Enamel Powder

Other Supplies
Blue Moon Silver Chain
Darice Jewelry Design Beads and Metal Connectors

Directions

Apply a coat of the Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive to the front and back of the Chipboard charm.

Immediately after applying the adhesive, sprinkle Piccolo Fine Black Enamel Powder over the entire surface of the chipboard. If you are using a tidy tray, gently tap the corner of the charm on the tray to remove all the excess embossing powder. A folded piece of paper works just a well.

After the Piccolo Fine Black Enamel Powder has cooled. Brush a thin line around the outside edge of the chipboard charm.   Immediately after applying the adhesive, sprinkle Piccolo Siam Silver Metalllic Powder over the entire surface of the chipboard.  Tap off excess metallic powder and melt powder with heat gun.   Repeat this process on all three Piccolo circle chipboard tag charms.

Gently remove the Piccolo Vintage Flourish using tweezers, needle or toothpick.  After you have removed the two small and large flourishes, coat each flourish using Siam Silver Metallic Powder. Tap off excess metallic powder use tweezers to keep the pieces in place and melt the powder with a heat gun.   Repeat this process on all three Piccolo Vintage Flourish Chipboard Charms. When all pieces have completely cooled, glue the flourishes to the circle chipboard charm.

Directions for assembling the earrings and necklace

You can use a ready made eye pin, or make one yourself. For this project, I used a ready made pin.  If you want to make a pin, use at least 9-10cm of wire for making your own. Insert the beads onto your eye pin in the following order:  silver metal spacer bead, glass bead and silver metal spacer.

Bend the end of the wire pin 80 to 90 degrees using you the pliers.

Grip and bend the wire with your round nose pliers as close to the bead as possible.
Use your free hand to bend the tip of the wire clockwise around the nose of the pliers to form a loop. You might have to reposition your pliers once or twice.

Use your cutters to cut off the excess wire that does not form part of the loop.

Slip the wire onto the loop of the headpin, and close the loop completely using your round nose pliers.

To form the ‘Y’ shape for the Y necklace, attach beads to the loop on top. Remember to attach the chain to both beads. Continue to add beads (with chain attached to it) on both sides. Measure the necklace as you go along. Stop adding beads when you have your  2” (5cm), because the toggle clasp and chain will measure approx. 2 inches. Do not wrap the last bead on both sides, leave the loop open.  Attach a loop and string a silver chain through the loop.
