Lovin' this vintage heart charm

Hello Friends! Heather here with my Fourth post for Globecraft and Piccolo. This month we were challenged to create charms using the new UV Resin and 3D Enamel Gels. I am having way too much fun using these products! You really need to treat yourself to some!

Supplies:

• Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive
• Ruby Red Slippers Embossing Powder
• Fine Tip Applicator
• Wheat Cream 3D Enamel Gel
• Satin Pearl White 3D Enamel Gel
• Yellow Ochre 3D Enamel Gel
• Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze
• Instant UV Resin
• Assorted Charm Bezel Shapes (I used the heart here)
• Cerchio Key Charms
• Vintage bronze o-ring
• Vintage bronze bead spacers
• Ranger Heat it tool
• Ranger's Vintage photo distress ink
• May Art Leaves
• Juliet Lace
• Cotton Candy Baker's Twine
• Flat paint brush
• Acrylic Flat-back Rose 

Directions:
Step 1: Apply a dime size amount of the Wheat 3D Enamel Gel to the heart shaped Bezel. Using a No. 6 or No. 8 flat brush, move the gel around to achieve a textured look; refer to photo below.

Step 2: I inked the whole piece with Ranger's Vintage Photo distress ink. I did a couple coats. 

Step 3: I applied the Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive carefully to the edges of the piece, then applied the Ruby Red Slippers embossing powder.

Step 4: I used my Ranger Heat it tool to heat up the Ruby Red Slippers embossing powder. I love the colors of this embossing powder. Gorgeous!

Step 5: I used the Glastique Finishing Glaze to adhere the Juliet Lace to the heart bezel.

Step 6: I used the Fine Tip Applicator and the Wheat Cream 3D Enamel Gel to cover the Cerchio Key Charm. Honestly you need at least TWO of the Fine Tip Applicators. You will love these for applying your enamels...and your glues. Let this air dry for about 5-10 minutes.

Step 7: I applied the Piccolo Instant UV Resin to the top and bottom of my heart bezel, avoiding the lace area. Then set it in my Teresa Collins Stamp maker UV light to cure for 3 minutes.

This stuff is FABULOUS! Go ahead and treat yourself to the large bottle...you deserve it! Honestly if you are anything like me...once you make one, you will want to make a million more :0).

Once I pulled it out, I used the Fine Tip Applicator and the Yellow Ochre 3D Enamel Gel to apply some little dots in the lace work.

Step 8: Next I inked the Cerchio Key with Vintage photo distress ink, then applied my Instant UV Resin and cured it in my Teresa Collins Stamp Maker UV Light for 3 minutes.

Step 9: Next I used the Glastique again to adhere the May Art leaves to the Juliet lace. I attached the Cerchio Key charm to the heart bezel with a vintage bronze O-Ring and used Cotton Candy Baker's Twine to wrap around and top off my Cerchio Key Charm with a bow.

Step 9: I used Glastique to adhere my flat-back rose and vintage bronze bead spacers. Using the Fine Tip Applicator, I added a drop of Satin Pearl White 3D Enamel Gel to create faux pearls to the center of each vintage bronze bead spacers. So now they look like little vintage flowers, reminiscent of an old piece of vintage jewelry.

Dreaming of sailing away

Hello Friends! Heather here with my third post for Globecraft and Piccolo. This month we were challenged to create charms using the new UV Resin and Enamel Gels. This was my first time using these products, and I had TOO MUCH FUN!

• Embossing Powder Adhesive
• Gilded Rose Gold Embossing Powder
• Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze
• Yellow Ochre Enamel Gel
• Instant UV Resin
• Assorted Charm Bezel Shapes (I used the square here)
• Interchangeable Vintage Brass Bail
• Pink Pearl Real Silk Cord Necklace
• Graphic Fairy Image
• Scrap book sheet
• Gecko Galz Travel On Image
• Ranger Heat it tool
• Ranger's Vintage photo distress ink

Directions:
Step 1:  Gather your supplies.

Step 2: I applied Glastique to my square charm and placed the scrap piece of book paper on it. Cut away the excess, then inked the edges with Ranger's Vintage Photo distress ink.

Step 3: I applied the Piccolo Embossing Adhesive to the edges of the piece, then applied the Gilded Rose embossing powder.

Step 4: I used my Ranger Heat it tool to heat up the Gilded Rose embossing powder! I love the vintage look of this embossing powder!

Step 5: I distressed the edges of my image and then inked them with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress inks. I used the Glastique to adhere it to the bezel. Make sure you have this secure, so no air bubbles pop out when you do the next step :0)

Step 6: I applied the Instant UV Resin, then set it in my Teresa Collins Stamp maker UV light to cure for 3 minutes. This stuff is FABULOUS! Go ahead and treat yourself to the large bottle...you deserve it! Honestly if you are anything like me...once you make one, you will want to make a million more :0).

Step 7: Next I cut out the rest of my images, inked them with Vintage photo distress ink, then used the Glastique to adhere them to my first layer of resin. I also applied some dots with the Yellow Ocher 3D Enamel Gel. Now you let your piece air dry. The enamels you do not heat set.

Step 8: After my Enamel Gel was dry, I added another layer of the instant UV Resin. Set in the UV light to cure for 3 minutes. I used the Glastique again to adhere my vintage button. I attached the charm to my interchangeable Vintage Brass Bail (these are gorgeous).

Step 9: I attached the bail to my pink pearl silk cord necklace and wore my new piece that day. I had three friends see me...and they all of course want one :0). Cool beans!

Embossing butterflies and natural background

Hello Friends!  Heather here with my second post for Globecraft and Piccolo. This month we were challenged to come up with some creative backgrounds. So on this project I decided to do some freehand brush work and use a couple stamps.

Directions:

Step 1:  I took a piece of scrapbook paper that I thought would go well with the embossing powders that I chose.  I placed an acrylic block on the page and traced it with a pencil.  I drew some leaves and scallops to create a frame look.

Step 2:  I used the filbert brush and the G&P Embossing Adhesive to brush in the leaves.

Step 3:  I applied the Shamrock Dreams embossing powder.

Step 4:  I used the same brush and filled in the rest of the leaves as above.  I then used the same brush to apply the embossing medium to the scallops.  I applied Ruby Red Slipper embossing powder to the scallops.

Step 5:  I used the filbert brush again, and created some freehand comma strokes around the leaves, then used the the Victorian Bronze embossing powder.

Step 6:   I used the liner brush and outlined the square that I originally traced with the embossing medium.  I also just applied a few lines on the rest of the page.  Then applied the Victorian Bronze embossing powder.

Step 7:  I used my finger and applied random splotches of embossing adhesive through out the page, and added more Victorian Bronze embossing powder. 

Step 8:  I used a couple stamps that I bought at a yardsale a few years back, applied embossing medium to them and stamped them in the corners and randomly on the page.  I applied the Ruby Red Slippers embossing powder to these.

Step 9:   I found the Fair Maiden and Butterfly images at Gecko Galz, printed them and cut them out to fit in my frame. I inked the edges of the Maiden image with Ranger's Vintage photo.  I then used the Glastique to adhere my image, butterflies, lace and text box embellishments.  I used the Globecraft and Piccolo embossing adhesive around the edges of the butterflies and applied the Victorian Bronze Embossing powder.  Used my Heat it tool to heat set it.

Step 10:  I inked the edges of my text boxes with Ranger's Vintage photo and placed them randomly on my page.  I also added some Juliet lace and pink flat-back pearls, to give my page a vintage feel.

Step 11:  I used the filbert brush again with the embossing medium to place brushwork leaves through out my page.  I used the Shamrock Dreams embossing powder on my leaves.

Creating Patterned Paper - Heather Hudson Style!

Heather here and I am excited to share with you my first project for Globecraft & Piccolo.

Our challenge this month is to use some of the fabulous G&P Embossing Powders and Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive to create a background to use in a scrapbook page or artist journal. This is my creation.

Directions

Step 1:

I started out using a sheet of white cardstock. I randomly placed a piece of netting (held the limes) on my paper, then used the embossing powder adhesive and dabbed randomly on the netting.

Step 2:

I dusted each area where I placed the adhesive with the Turquoise embossing powder. I used a sheet of computer paper that I folded in half to catch my extra embossing powder and pour it back into the container. Used my Ranger Heat it tool to heat set the embossing powder.

Step 3:

Next I chose to use the netting that held the avocados, and placed it randomly on my sheet of cardstock. I again used the Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive to dab around.

Step 4:

I covered the areas where I used the adhesive with Ruby Red Slippers embossing powder. I used the printer paper to catch the excess embossing powder and place it back in the container. Used the heating tool to heat set the powder.

Step 5:

I used a background stamp, covered it with embossing adhesive, then pressed it randomly on different areas of my page. I did re-apply embossing adhesive between stamping.

Step 6:

I applied the Gilded Rose Gold embossing powder where I stamped, and collected the excess embossing powder like as mentioned above. Then heat set the embossing powder.

Step 7:

I used the Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive with it's fabby applicator and just dabbed randomly on the page. 

Step 8:

Here is a tip, just dab a couple places where you want to do the same colors. Otherwise, it is kind of difficult to keep your embossing powders separate :0). I used the same embossing powders and added the Gilded Rose Gold embossing powder as well.

Step 9:

I found a set of chalks that I purchased a long while back (any chalks will do). You could use inks, watercolors or oil pastels as well. I used a tiny cotton ball to blend my colors once I colored (I started out using the little clip to hold the cotton ball, but just gave that up..too much work...lol).

Step 10:

Tip...it is easier to color all over with different color chalks, then do your blending, doesn't seem to take as long as blending. I used a different cotton ball for each color.

Here it is once it has been blended. I am very happy with how it turned out :0)

Step 11:

I decided that I would tear up my page, and add it with some other patterned papers scraps to create the page below. I used a gloss medium to apply all my torn pieces to my artist journal page. Normally I use matte medium, but I thought I would try something different.

  

Step 12:

I decided to do a little doodling with some sharpie markers.

Step 13:

Use the Embossing Powder adhesive and apply it to the outside edges of the page. Then apply your embossing powders. Heat set with your heat tool to set the powders. I used the same colors I mentioned above, just placed them randomly around the edges.

Here are a couple close ups of the page. I used some left over ribbons, trims and collage pieces that I had laying around. I also used a Martha Stewart Punch, and punched out some of the sheet I created to frame my photo.

I used the Glastique finishing glaze to glue down all of my embellishments!

The page was inspired by two new pair of sunglasses that I purchase (kind of silly I know). Orange and Pink. When I was younger orange was my favorite color for many years...so it is kind of a flashback for me...lol.
