Flowers and Bees

The image and die cuts were colored with Copic markers.

The background was created with one of the new SweetStamps stencils named Roof Tiles and Ranger Distress Ink.  No masking but I was extra careful to avoid the image using a makeup wedge as a sponge.

Stencil Patterns and Butterflies

This is a great layout to show off some of the new stencils from SweetStamps.  The top design is 3x6" Tangrams, center - 3x6" Checker Flowers, bottom - Backsplash.  Ranger Distress Ink was used to sponge the colors.  Over the stop of the stenciling molding paste was applied using the stencil 6x6" Encircled Diamonds and once the paste was dry the stencil was replaced and distress ink was applied for color then sticky powder and Micro Fine Glitter was applied.

Aged White enamel was sprinkled on the edges and popped into the toaster oven to melt.  I found a very small one at Salvation Army and it's much easier to use than a heat gun - no fly away powder!

Glitter paper was created using heat and stick and Micro Fine Glitter, one set of butterflies were cut from the glitter paper and a second set from the purple.  Also four backs (this is a two pieces butterfly set) were cut so the glitter paper pieces could be inlaid into the purple outline and just the opposite was also created and I'll have a second set on hand for another project.

Other supplies:
Paper: Bazzill - purple, all other papers unknown
Ink: VersaMark for embossing, Ranger Distress Ink - tumbled glass, squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, shaded lilac
Tools: Perfect Layers used for spacing the panels, butterflies -  Flutterby #2
Accessories: unknown gems, Paper Glaze for adhesive, Aleene's tacky glue for butterfly assembly and attaching to the card

A Girl and Her Dog

My one scrapbook page for the year of a little girl and her dog.  I created this page to sit alongside a previous page using the same papers and decided the SweetStamps flowers would look nicer than stickers and I like how it turned out.

Whimsy Flower

The panels were ink distressed with Ranger Distress Ink and the lilac image was dry embossed using a Cuttlebug folder.

The paper flower was colored with Chameleon Pens VO4, OR4, VO3, GR3, cut out and glued to the panel. Diamond Stickles was applied to image.

The bookboard corner accent was heat embossed with Micro White powder and colored with the same Chameleon Pens that were used for the paper flower, and then glued to the card with Aleene's tacky glue.

Birds on a Wire

The background for the birds was created with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains.  After adding all the color I spritzed with the white Picket Fence and blew some of the spots with an airbrush.

The bookboard birds were heat embossed with 3 coats of Vintage Black powder to create dimension and round them out.  The piece was attached to the card with Aleene's tacky glue.

Watercolor Poppies

I used the SweetStamps Poppy Garden image on this card and I tried out a new product named Color Burst and had a great time coloring the poppies and creating the background.  Color Burst is a powder in a small bottle and when it hits the water it will burst into color so if you aren't a pro at watercolor this product make it look like you're pro. See a video here.

The image is heat embossed with detail black powder, this does help stop the flow of water from the background onto the blossoms and I didn't wet the blossoms until after the background was created.  Rather than blow the powder onto the paper I placed it in a paint pallet and picked it up with a wet brush to avoid getting the powder on the flower petals.   A tiny bit of powder goes a long way!

The yellow panel was sponging with the ATC  Mini Art Stencil - Stained Glass by moving it around the panel as I sponged with Ranger Distress Ink - Mustard Seed.

The small butterflies are from Globecraft and Piccolo and they are heat embossed with the Micro White powder then attached to the card with Aleene's tacky glue.

Spring Florals

The flowers were created with the Spring Florals stencil from SweetStamps line - Art Stencils, it has four flowers on one stencil and this card uses two of them.  I also used the Basket Weaves stencil around the edges.

I used a simply method of masking off using mainly the straight edge of paper and painters tape and only had to make a couple cuts to curve my lines and moved the paper around as needed for the next sponging.
