In the Spirit of Christmas

Good morning-
Calypso here to share with you a gorgeous card made using the "Chalk Board Technique" which I completely love.  I know that black is not really a color used most often for Christmas cards, but I just could't help myself.
For my card today, I am using "Madonna and Child Stained Glass" and "Merry Christmas" sentiment; which have all been heat embossed with "White Detailed Embossing Powder".  I then took the SweetStamps white dye ink and with a q-tip, added the white detail above the head of the image and around the sentiment.  I then distressed the edges.
I try not to make 6x6 cards, simply because I do not have the envelopes for them, but I could't resist adding more and more detail to the card.  That is a rare occurrence for me too, since I like to keep my cards clean and simple, but not over ally simple.  I added the candy dots on the left hand corner and and gorgeous clusters of flowers.
You can link your card to this weeks challenge: Challenge #198 - Christmas Spirit

Quick and Simple Christmas Ornament

Hello!  Lisa here today with a quick and easy Christmas Ornament that could also double as a gift tag!  As the Holidays are upon us we often find ourselves busy, spread out, and trying to squeeze in some last minute projects, so this will be something you can make in a matter of minutes as well as mass duplicate and still have fun...

Supplies Used:

To create this ornament I started with the base tree (plain tree piccolo accent) and embossed it in Mossy Glen Enamel Powder.  I repeated this step for extra coverage.  I then took the Lattice Christmas tree and embossed this in Victorian Bronze.  I adhered the two together using Glastique in gloss finish.  A tip when doing this to make sure the adhesion is tight use something with a little bit of weight to lay ontop of them for at least 5 minutes.  You can then adhere rhinestones, glitter or whatever you would like.  To add ribbon I simply punch a hole through the plain tree accent and tied my elastic cord through here.

Hope this has you inspired to look at your accents in new ways!  PS - Don't forget to join us in our Christmas Spirit Challenge!  All products are welcome, but we love to see you use our SS and Piccolo Products so you will earn an extra entry if you do!

Happy Crafting!
Lisa

Christmas Spirit

The Sweet Stamps challenge this week is Christmas Spirit.

SweetStamps.com has Gilding Flakes in the store, and I had to try using them on a card. I applied Duo glue to the snowflakes, then I added Calypso Gilding Flakes and rubbed them in. Next, I used a coarser brush and wiped them off.
For the background, I tried an experiment...I found a small tube of spray hand sanitizer at Target (in the area where they have mini travel toothpaste, etc).  I took 3 colors of ink spots and dabbed them  onto my non-stick craft sheet, and then spritzed on the hand sanitizer. I sponged on the color on one color at a time onto glossy white cardstock- first gray, then the light blue and finally just a touch of the darker blue.
I added snowflakes and embossed them with shimmery EP. The rhinestones were colored with Copic marker YR23.

Here are the products I used :

Colorful Birthday

Roxie here and I had fun creating this happy card, I like the open letters of the sentiment so it can be colored in.

The cupcake paper is a solid image on the clear stamp so to get an outline I inked up the top of the image with an ink pad and used a wet wipe to remove the unwanted ink but also took advantage of the ink to use as a shadow.  I used a marker to outline the solid image so I could color it in.

The balloons, cupcake and sentiment are popped up with foam tape.

Copics: flame - Y38,17,15, candle - V17,15,12, frosting - R29,27,24,22,21, paper - YR31,30, sentiment - R29,27,24, V17,15,12, Y38,17,15, YG95,93,91, B95,93,91
