holiday happiness

Hi everyone! It's Leslie, guest designing for SweetStamps during the month of August, and I'm here today to share with you my inspiration project for the SweetStamps Monthly Technique Challenge - Masking! What a fun, fun, fun technique! ;) This technique challenge will run from August 15th through September 14th, so come play with us! You'll have a blast!

I used the beautifully simple SweetStamps Winter Tree stamp along with some JudiKins Eclipse Mask Tape and four Memento inks (Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, New Sprout and Pisatacho) to create a little wintery scene for a Christmas card! Nothing like getting a head start! And not to mention that green is my absolute favorite color, so these different shades of green masked trees are just an added bonus to this beautiful card! ;) The inside sentiment is SweetStamps holiday happiness stamped in Pear Tart, Bamboo Leaves and Pistacho. For details, please see my full blog post at Love To Scrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you've been inspired to create a masked masterpiece (say that three times fast!) for this SweetStamps challenge! Have an awesome day!
Hugs,
Leslie

Happy Wedding Day

Hi everyone! It's Leslie, guest designing for SweetStamps during the month of August, and I'm back today to share with you my inspiration project for the SweetStamps Bling challenge! I'm so happy to be here! What girl doesn't just love bling?! Come play with us!

I used the Antique Bride stamp as the focal image on the front of my card, embossed on vellum and mounted on some very pretty oval die cuts. The Happy Wedding Day sentiment stamp decorates the inside. Medium and dark shades of salmon were used on her wedding dress, and I carried those colors to the front and inside of the card. I used gemstones, pearls and a wedding rings charm for the bling! For details, please see my full blog post at Love To Scrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you've been inspired to create a pretty project with lots of bling for this SweetStamps challenge! Have an awesome day! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

A Tip for The Fine Line Applicator Tip

Have you ever used the Globecraft Fine Line Applicator Tip?  It creates a really beautiful fine line!  I use it all the time with the 3D Enamel Gels.
It creates the sort of details that you just can't get without it.  It is especially useful for eyes and other such detailing.
The only problem is that, being so fine, it is more difficult to keep clean.  That is why I am offering this super easy tip:  fill the container it comes in with water, and store the tip in it. That way, it is always clean and ready to go when you are!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope my tip was useful for you!

Have A Beautiful Day

Hi everyone! My name is Leslie and I'm so stoked to be guest designing for SweetStamps during the month of August! A huge thanks to Kendra and crew! Woo-hoo! I'm absolutely thrilled to be here! I "found" SweetStamps this past February and just love working with their awesome products... everything from stamps, ink and embossing powder to dies! ;)

A little about me... I'm married with a grown son and daughter, and a beautiful granddaughter, and live in sunny (and sometimes miserably hot) north Florida! I'm absolutely addicted to stamping, and love creating beautiful cards, paper shoes and mini albums. And thanks to my sister, I've recently added beading to the list! I work full-time and spend most weekday evenings vegging with the hubster on the couch, but my weekends are usually devoted to playing in the scrap room and getting inky fingers!

I wanted to keep my inspiration project for the SweetStamps Silhouettes challenge simple and elegant. I used the gorgeous In Her Easter Bonnet stamp as the focal image on the front and the Have A Beautiful Day sentiment stamp on the inside. For details, please see my full blog post at Love To Scrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you're inspired to create a beautiful silhouette project for this challenge! Have a beautiful day! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

Seeing the colors of G&P Embossing Powders

Hello! Tracy here with another tip using Globecraft & Piccolo products.

I love using G&P Enamel powders in artwork, there is so many colors and textures I keep finding new things to do with them. Though with Globecraft having so many completely different colors it is hard to choose which one I would like for a project. So I came up with a way to create an index of embossing powders to keep track of my collection!

Enamel powders generally look very different in the jar from they are finally heated. I can keep track of what the final colors would look like by applying them to scrap pieces of bookboard.

You can use any piece of scrap bookboard or chipboard you like, I use the ovals since I do a lot of home decor work and want to see how it would look on a larger surface. In this photo I am apply G&P Enamel & Embossing Powder Adhesive to the bookboard oval.

I like to apply two coats of embossing powder to the bookboard for intense color but it is not a necessity. You can use the total heat set technique or do half & half: total heat set for the first coat, and flash heat set the second.

After the enamel powder has cooled I write the name of the color on the back and keep my color index of enamel powders with the jars of powder. Anytime I have a project I want to see what colors would look best I pull out the index! :)

Inspired by the Tips and Tricks you see on the Globecraft & Piccolo blog? Post your projects on the Globecraft & Piccolo Facebook page!

Until next time, Safe travels!

Super Excited to Share a Silhouette! by guest designer, Julie Odil

I want to thank Stacey and Sweet Stamps for giving me the opportunity to guest design this month.  I've been looking forward to August for a long time now! I'm Julie Odil, and you can find more of my work at Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.

I've always been creative, spending my days working as an activity director/music therapist at the local nursing home.  My husband and I are very active, walking our 2 Golden Retrievers (one goes to work with me everyday), biking, kayaking, hiking,  & motorcycling. Whenever I have any "free" time, I'm in my craft room, creating something.  I love stamps and paper, and am happiest when getting inky.
For this week's silhouette challenge, I used the beautiful "Queen Anne's Wildflowers" (6008G) stamp to make this card:

And, here's the inside Sweet Stamps sentiment (9126C)

There's details on how I got this watercolor effect on my blog.
