Frame - Guest Designer Penny Ward

Hey friends and welcome to the Sweet Stamp Challenge Blog.
Penny Ward here for the last time as a Guest Designer. I have had so much fun playing with the super cute stamps and spending time on this blog.

So let's get to it.

Let's Make a Card and then change it ...

I started with white card stock and stamped the Floral Corner Wrap, turned the stamp 90 degrees and stamped it again. As you can see, I started with light Blue ink, then added two other Blues to the stamp before I actually stamped the card stock. Gives the vines a nice variegated look.
Now the fun part...color the flowers.

I used the same inking technique on the sentiment Thank You Curly, then cut it into a banner shape.

Flowers and foliage were cut with Silhouette Cameo and inked.

There is hardly a card that I make that doesn't have Liquid Pearls on it, and this is no exception....absolutely LOVE my Liquid Pearls!

While writing this post I am thinking "how cute would this be to cut out the center of the card and actually make it into a picture frame"...now why didn't I think of this sooner?

So...let's change it into a Frame ...

Took the embellishments off  (carefully) and used Deckled Rectangles Large to cut the center from the card.
Used an Aqua card stock as a mat for the frame, die cut the center with Deckled Rectangles Small. When adhering it together I left the top unglued leaving an opening for the picture (my handsome son and my adorable grandsons...just sayin').
To make the frame a little more sturdy, I adhered two panels of heavy watercolor paper and made an easel.
Re-attach the embellishments.

This frame is still sized at 5.5 x 4.25 inches...so you could still pop it in the mail.

I have had a total blast Guest Designing here at Sweet Stamps and I hope in the future you will bookmark my blog Penny Ward Ink and come visit me often.

Many many hugs,
Penny Ward

Mums Bouquet Tag ...

Good morning. Ruza here sharing the Tag I created to inspire you to play along with this weeks Sweet Stamps Challenge #140 ~ Tags

Last week I mentioned that I was saving the Corner from the beautiful Mum Bouquet & Corner Duo (1006). Today's Tag features the beautiful Mum Bouquet Corner which I stamped at the top of the tag and then around the edges with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Each image was colored with my Copic Markers, then I used a dauber to apply three different Distress Inks, and distressed the edges. The final step was to add my ribbon.

While you are here scroll down for all of the details about this weeks Challenge #140, and then share your project for a chance to win a $20.00 Shopping Spree to Sweet Stamps Online Store.

I'll see you next week, same time, same place.

Until then ... Enjoy!

Tag - Guest Designer Penny Ward

Hello friends and welcome to the Sweet Stamps blog.
Penny Ward here again this week as a Guest Designer.

This was an interesting project for me, as I knew when I selected this stamp to work with, I had just received a very large Mason Jar full of buttons from my friend Cathy. (How cool is that?)
This stamp is so adorable whether you color it or embellish it.

Let's Make a Tag...or two

I started with white card stock measuring 5 x 3 inches, and cut into a tag shape.
I stamped and heat embossed the Patch Corner Large stamp two times on the tag. Colored them, then stamped the sentiment with Staggered Thinking of You. Inked the edges and added buttons and sequins.

Hole punch the top and add ribbon.

On the Yellow tag....really messed that sentiment up, so it now has a banner with the word "Thinking".
I love how you can embellish most mistakes.

On the Blue tag, I masked the sentiment stamp so the letter "O" was missing. In it's place I have used a small button. :)

This would be the perfect stamp for someone who sews, or to match it up with a teddy bear stamp...so many possibilities

Thank you so much for swinging by today. Please join us here again as the designers have so much in store for your viewing pleasure.

Hugs,

Let's go Shopping:
White card stock
Inks: Memento Dandelion & Nautical Blue, Tuxedo Black (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko)
Spectrum Noir Markers
Scor-Bug
Hole Punch
Buttons
Ribbon

Mum Bouquet ...

Good morning. Ruza here sharing a Center Step card for this weeks Sweet Stamps Challenge #139 ~ Anything Goes/Center Step Cards. I'm not that good when it comes to making Center Step Cards, so today's project was a struggle for me. Hope you like it!

Today's card features the beautiful Mum Bouquet & Corner Duo (1006). Mums were my mothers favorite flowers so I had to choose this beautiful set. I'm saving the Corners for another project.

Once the Mums were colored with my Copic Markers I used Chalk Pencils to shade the background. I created the Center Step Card with Bazzill Haley. It was a perfect match for the Mums. Add in the decorative die on the sides with some butterflies, and then the sentiment Thinking of You Curly (909C) was stamped on the distressed bottom strip.

While you are here scroll down for all of the details about this weeks Challenge #139, and then share your project for a chance to win a $20.00 Shopping Spree to Sweet Stamps Online Store.

I'll see you next week, same time, same place.

Until then ... Enjoy!

Step Card - Guest Designer Penny Ward

Hello friends, I am so glad you were able to swing by today.
It is Penny Ward again and I have the pleasure as Guest Designer today here at Sweet Stamps.

It is time to STEP out of your comfort zone and make something different.
Really, that was the best pun I could come up with.

So let's Make a Step Card...

I made this card with my Silhouette Cameo...absolutely love this machine!
Is that cheating...I think not!

Then it is a matter of stamping and coloring.

I stamped Floral Corner Wrap (how gorgeous is this stamp?), and colored the tiny flowers. I used this stamp for both the center and side panels. I then matted those with Navy card stock.

I stamped the sentiment Thank You Curly on the banner and again matted it in Navy.

After assembling the card, I then added flowers and foliage I had cut with the Cameo from white card stock.
Liquid Pearls (my favorite thing to use on a card...ever) finished the card.
This is a standard size A2 card when folded flat.

Thanks for spending part of your day with me and if you get a chance, please check out my blog here.

Hugs,
Penny
