This week at SweetStamps.com, our challenge is to use

Micro Beads or Sugar Beads

Beads give your projects a unique finish and texture. Use beads on super sticky tape, or clear dimensional glue. They are fun to use over die cut or stamped images. We have some instructions too - check out this video: Stacey's Stained Glass Technique and this project: Sugared Flowers.

Vintage Altered Tin

Hello, Charlotte here and I am sharing how to make this vintage keepsake altered tin. This tin is a keepsake tin devoted to storing family memories, which I plan to store old vintage family photographs.  I aged the tin using Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder, Piccolo Victorian Bronze Metallic Powder and ink.  The finished box is sealed with Glastique Gloss for protection.  I love using the Piccolo Vintage Cooper Enamel Powder because of the beautiful patina finish.  These enamel powders are perfect for mix media artist and are by far are the best embossing powders I have used for mixed media.  I hope you enjoy this tin....

Easel Greeting Card

Hello there, glad you can stop by today here on the Globecraft Memories blog for a little inspiration. Michelle here today to share with you my easel greeting card.

The easel greeting card is not your traditional or typical greeting card. The easel on the back of the card makes it sturdy for display on your desk, counter top, and or shelf.

You would simply decorate the card as you would a regular card, and recipient can easily fold at the mid-joint, enter the mid-joint into the tongue of the easel  to display.

I used 24K Gold embossing powders and Piccolo enamel adhesive along with my heat gun for the hearts you see on the card.

Good morning, Steph here again. Since receiving my box of Globecraft Memories products, I've been having fun playing and experimenting to see what these products will do.

Since I always need a Thank You card, I pulled out my Sizzix Embossing Folder and embossed a sheet of silver cardstock.

I applied Enamel Powder Adhesive across several words and then poured Vintage Silver across some of the embossed words just to see what would happen.

It's a little hard just getting the adhesive on the words, but it does provide a great result. The upper word is clear because it is a little thicker. The lower word is a little difficult to see in this photo, but if you look at the final card above, this word really stands out. I then added adhesive and Vintage Silver around the edge of the card

I applied Mermaid Tears to the edges of this tag and then heat set. Then I applied liberal amounts of adhesive to the center of tag and added Enchanted Aubergine and then heat set it again. I then added some more Mermaid Tears and again heat set, allowing the colors to run. Continually reheating the powders allows you to create some really fun mixtures and designs.

I decided to see what would happen if I used these products on ribbon. I applied adhesive the full length of the ribbon then added Mermaid Tears. After heat setting, I then reapplied the adhesive and added Vintage Silver. My ribbon became firm and was able to hold the shape you see.

I tied part of the ribbon to the tag, then stapled a portion to the lower edge of the tag.
Then I thought I'd see if rub-ons would adhere to the tag and they went on beautifully without issue.

Challenge #69 Bleached

This week at SweetStamps.com, our challenge theme is

Bleached

This is a fun technique to try. Use a paintbrush with Bleach to paint in areas of a stamped image or spray some bleach on a paper towel and use that as an inkpad for your stamps. Some paper will turn white, others turn to a lighter shade of their color, while some react by turning a different hue altogether. Occasionally, you won't see any change at all...every paper reacts differently! You can even color over a bleached area (my fave is with chalks). Sweet Oval Globeframe

Hello there! Michelle here to share with you how I turned my plain chipboard frame set into this cute hanging frame for my craft room.

I absolutely love the freedom to use whatever paper I want to decorate my chipboard frame set. They are easy to make, and fun to embellish.  

After tracing and cutting the frames, gently remove the swirls from Piccolo decor set. Carefully cut tick marks for easy removal by using an Exacto knife.

Add a thin layer of Piccolo enamel adhesive to the swirls, sprinkle the embossing powders, and use the heat gun to melt the powder.

Add glitter around the images,  and then apply a thin layer of Glastique to seal. I can also use Glastique as an adhesive.......my new favorite go to glue!

 Here is a closer look at how it looks when Glastique has dried. If adding a thin layer of Glastique it takes minutes to dry.

Finished the frame by adding the embossed swirls and a quote trinket.

Grapes of Wrath, Piccolo-Style

Hello there everyone! Linda here bringing you another tutorial for Globecraft Memories product. This time I decided to play with our Piccolo Card Decor & More packs. I have never considered myself a card maker but I tell you - you don't have to know how to make a card to use these packets.

The Piccolo Card Decor & More packs come with several chipboard elements that easily punch out and can be painted, heat embossed, glittered - whatever you'd like to do with them. The pieces all coordinate and I used entire packets on the cards I've been creating. I love the detail in each piece and they are not very thick which means less bulk.

For this card I selected Piccolo Vintage Grape Vine, F010. This pack would make a great addition to a wine tasting invitation, a girl's night out announcement, bridal invite or even used as charms for wine glasses or bottles.

After making my Piccolo selection I started by cutting and embossing two ovals from Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Scalloped Ovals Small. I had never used them before and realized it is really easy - I just read the instructions. The title, "Beautiful Earth," is from Stampscapes Scenic Sentiments Sheet #7 and is embossed using our Piccolo embossing adhesive and our 24K Gold enamel powder. This particular powder has very fine gold glitter mixed in and it is just stunning! Don't be leery if there is a glittery sheen left after tapping excess enamel powder off before heat embossing, it is only the glitter and it brushes away after heat setting the enamel.

The piccolo frame is embossed with our Gilded Rose enamel powder and the scroll pieces with Vintage Gold enamel powder and the edges of the scalloped ovals are inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The top oval is given added dimension by using foam dimensional squares underneath.

Adding a pop of color to the grapes and leaves is easy with our new (not-yet released) acrylic paints. The colors are amazing! The paint dries rather quickly on the chipboard pieces and then were coated with Glossy Glastique to create dimension. The Glastique really magnifies the color and detail in the grapes and leaves. When using it in small amounts it dries rather quickly. These tiny dots on the grapes dry clear in about 1/2 hour.

The elements were then arranged and mounted on some pretty plaid paper from my stash. No telling how old it is - there isn't even a barcode on the back so I couldn't tell you which company created it - sorry.

Chipboard Charm Bookmark Tutorial

Hello and happy Thursday!  Ryann here with a simple tutorial on how to turn your Piccolo Chipboard Charms into a bookmark with only a few simple steps!  I love to read and was in need of a new bookmark. How perfect the Piccolo Chipboard Charms are for bookmarks.  They are flat enough to fit between the pages of a book and are so easy to "dress up".  Let me show you how!

Supplies Used:

• Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive (Globecraft Memories)
• Girls Night Out Mixed Media Powder (Globecraft Memories)
• Teardrop Floral Flourish Chipboard Charm - coming soon! (Globecraft Memories)
• Pearls (Kaisercraft)
• Black twill ribbon (Papertrey Ink)
• heat gun
• fabric glue

1.  Apply the Enamel Powder Adhesive to one side of the Piccolo Chipboard Charm and sprinkle with Girls Night Out Mixed Media Powder.  Turn Piccolo Chipboard Charm sideways and allow excess Mixed Media Powder to fall off.  Apply heat using your heat gun and allow the powder to melt.  Let cool then repeat on opposite side.

2.  Thread ribbon through top of Piccolo Chipboard Charm and apply fabric glue to end of ribbon. 

3. Fold glued end to attach to length of ribbon and allow to dry.  

4.  Once dry, decorate with pearls and tie bow at base of ribbon. 

Four simple steps and you've a gorgeous yet functional new bookmark!  I hope this has inspired you to take your Piccolo Chipboard Charms and go outside the box with them!
