For an Offbeat Bride (last of the components)

Good morning - Teresa here again with today's inspiration - 

I've completed all of my components for this bouquet. (actually I've started assembling and it is turning out AMAZING) 

So for today - we just a few more ideas for the "brooches" - 

I'm going to do this post a tiny bit different today. I'll be listing the supplies with each picture. I'm doing this because I used several different Piccolos and enamels for these.

First off - a beautiful openwork rose. 

The rose was embossed with 

Ruby Red Slippers Enamel for the flower and Shamrock Dreams for the stem and leaves.

There are 8 of the roses in the package. 

This little Pinwheel Flower was embossed with

Bahama Aqua embossing powder. 

I used the solid and the openwork frame and embossed them the same color. 

Then, I used  Matte Glastique to glue tiny beads to the center only. When that dried, I flexed the openwork petals a bit for a 3D effect. 

I've used lots of the Stacking Flowers in various ways in this creation. (there are 24 assorted flowers in the package)

This looks like the tropics to me. The top one is embossed in Cranberry Wine

and the larger is embossed in Bahama Aqua. 

I then used Matte Glastique to stack them and add the tiny rhinestones for sparkle.

The one above is my absolute favorite of this batch. 

A little brass Pinwheel Flower. 

I used the Gilded Rose Gold  Powder on this and it really does look like aged brass. 

I offset the two pieces and added a vintage brass button for the center. 

(just a note ---- I may have gasped a little when I put this together. )

This is a crappy lighting picture of the 3D effect you get when you glue just the center of the shape and then flex the petals up. Just a bit of dimension for that. 

This is the inspiration picture for flower just above. Stacks of shapes. 

I recommend taking a look at the full range of Piccolos  available. I then do an image search for Vintage Brooches on Google and pick and choose inspirations such as above and start a version of the piece.

The tutorial for the little pink flowers was in the first week's post. 

I've assembled them using fine wire, frosted glass beads, and seed beads using the inspiration photo below. 

This will become the boutonniere for this Offbeat Wedding Ensemble. 

Note all of the embossing is done using the Embossing Enamel Adhesive.

Hello my lovelies!

Today I have for you one of my favorite things to create- mini canvases.

Ah they are so much fun and so very sweet.

This project also uses one of my favorite charms sets- Vintage Birdcages.

Supplies:

Mini canvas, fancy napkin, acrylic paint, Mod Podge, epoxy sticker, beads, charms (bow and bird)

Heat gun, tooth pick

Vintage Birdcage Piccolos

Enamel Adhesive Fluid

Aged White enamel powder

Gold & Copper enamel gels

E600 glue

First things first- separate the layers of your fancy napkin.

Coat the canvas with mod Podge and stick the top (fancy) layer of the napkin onto the canvas.

Once it's dry, tear off around the edges. Then paint the edges with acrylic paint.

Randomly plop some enamel adhesive fluid onto the canvas and add Aged White enamel powder.

Heat to melt the powder and activate the adhesive.

Coat the solid background for the birdcage with enamel adhesive fluid and then Aged White powder.

Heat it up!

Now coat the fancy part of the birdcage with enamel gels.

Gold on the swirly heart on the door, copper on the rest.

(I went back and did a second coat of the gold once it was all dry).

Once the cage is dry, use a toothpick to put E600 glue onto the back of it and adhere it to the cage background.

Add the birdcage to the left corner of the canvas.

Use the E600 to add a bow to the cage (this bow was a charm that I cut the loop off of).

Randomly spread some E600 around the bottom of the cage/bottom edge of the canvas 

and drop beads onto it.  

Add your epoxy sticker and a bird charm, and it's all done!

Vintage Dress Form Home Decor

Hello my darlings!

Today my shabby chic/vintage loving self came out and I have something

pretty different from what I've shared with ya so far.

I sure hope you like it!

Remember you could create this with the colors that suit you best.

I didn't take many in progress photos of this one,

but it's pretty easy.

What you need:

Vintage Dress Forms

Daisy Floral Accents

Heart that you saved from the Vintage Bird Cage last week

E600 glue

Enamel Adhesive Fluid

Enamel Powders: Vintage Black, Aged White, Turquoise Lagoon, Cranberry Wine

Fancy Napkin naked wood plaque, small wood block, gesso, Mod Podge, black pigment ink (I used Mixed Media ink), white paper flowers, fancy flowers, rhinestone chain (or bling), alcohol inks (Ranger), piece of Stampboard or something similar, scrap of card stock, tooth picks, sanding file or sand paper.

What to do:

1. Paint the plaque with a coat of gesso and let dry. Then Mod Podge a fancy napkin onto it. be sure to separate the layers of the napkin and only use the top, pretty layer. Once it's dry, sand around the edges.

2. Get your piece of stamp board (or whatever white, shiny thing you're gonna use. You could sub a piece of chip board with some glossy card stock stuck to it) and coat with the alcohol inks. I used Silver & Aqua with a little bit of Rust.



3. Now, coat one edge of the inked piece with enamel adhesive fluid and coat with the Vintage Black enamel powder. Heat. Continue all the way around, and then do a second coat.

*pretty, isn't it?*

4. Now gather your darling Piccolo pieces. Punch the bits out of the dress form. Coat the dress form with enamel adhesive fluid and Vintage Black powder. Heat well an add a second coat if desired. The swirl was done with Aged White. Two of the flowers are White Micro powder, and the rest of the flowers are Cranberry Wine.



5. Dot the alcohol inked piece with enamel adhesive fluid and sprinkle on some powders. I used a little bit of each color listed in the supplies. Heat it up, baby. Do the same with the white paper flowers.

6. Flip the dress form over and use a toothpick to coat with E600. Stick to a piece of card stock and trim. Add more glue and adhere to the inked/embossed piece.

7. Coat the edges of the plaque with pigment ink and roll in Vintage Black powder. Heat to melt. 

 8. Now time to start assembling. I used the E600 glue to adhere everything!! Place the dress form on first, centered on the plaque, then build up your flowers around it. Add the rhinestone trim (or bling) around the edge. Don't forget to add the heart! :)

9. Your final step: flip the plaque over and use the E600 to glue the wooden block to the back. This will act as a little stand and make your piece stand on its own, no easel required.



Frame - Guest Designer Penny Ward

Hey friends and welcome to the Sweet Stamp Challenge Blog.

Penny Ward here for the last time as a Guest Designer. I have had so much fun playing with the super cute stamps and spending time on this blog.

So let's get to it.

Let's Make a Card and then change it ...

I started with white card stock and stamped the Floral Corner Wrap, turned the stamp 90 degrees and stamped it again. As you can see, I started with light Blue ink, then added two other Blues to the stamp before I actually stamped the card stock. Gives the vines a nice variegated look.

Now the fun part...color the flowers.

I used the same inking technique on the sentiment Thank You Curly, then cut it into a banner shape.

Flowers and foliage were cut with Silhouette Cameo and inked.

There is hardly a card that I make that doesn't have Liquid Pearls on it, and this is no exception....absolutely LOVE my Liquid Pearls!

While writing this post I am thinking "how cute would this be to cut out the center of the card and actually make it into a picture frame"...now why didn't I think of this sooner?

So...let's change it into a Frame ...

Took the embellishments off  (carefully) and used Deckled Rectangles Large to cut the center from the card.

Used an Aqua card stock as a mat for the frame, die cut the center with Deckled Rectangles Small. When adhering it together I left the top unglued leaving an opening for the picture (my handsome son and my adorable grandsons...just sayin').

To make the frame a little more sturdy, I adhered two panels of heavy watercolor paper and made an easel.

Re-attach the embellishments.

This frame is still sized at 5.5 x 4.25 inches...so you could still pop it in the mail.

Step Card - Guest Designer Penny Ward

Hello friends, I am so glad you were able to swing by today.

It is Penny Ward again and I have the pleasure as Guest Designer today here at Sweet Stamps.

It is time to STEP out of your comfort zone and make something different. 

Really, that was the best pun I could come up with.

So let's Make a Step Card...

I made this card with my Silhouette Cameo...absolutely love this machine!

Is that cheating...I think not!

Then it is a matter of stamping and coloring.

I stamped Floral Corner Wrap (how gorgeous is this stamp?), and colored the tiny flowers. I used this stamp for both the center and side panels. I then matted those with Navy card stock.

I stamped the sentiment Thank You Curly on the banner and again matted it in Navy.

After assembling the card, I then added flowers and foliage I had cut with the Cameo from white card stock.

Liquid Pearls (my favorite thing to use on a card...ever) finished the card.

This is a standard size A2 card when folded flat.
