Who Loves Ya

I love this cute little owl from the Who Loves Ya set. I colored her in and decided to color the hearts red for Valentines Day instead of the usual green for the leaves. I popped up the scalloped circle using 3D tape. The tree branch was done using a shade of green underneath and colored again using a deep brown color to give it a green tint. This set is available in the shop under new products.

I Love You (Banner Girl)

Good Morning people!

Britt Bass here bringing you a card I made using a sweet little stamp set called Banner Girl & Words!

Can you believe it is time to start making valentines?!  I began my card by stamping the girl from Banner Girl & Words Little Sweetiesstamp set on three different piece of paper - a white cardstock, a floral cardstock and a mint green.  I fussy cut and paper pieced her headband, dress, banner and shoes from the two patterned pieces and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color her hair, skin and socks.  I then set her aside.

I used a frame from the Piccolo Accents set "Small Gears and Accents" and covered it with that light cream- colored woodgrain paper and attached dotted tulle to the hollow in the middle.  I wanted it to look like a little screen door!  I cut a panel of scrapbook paper with a rose design to the size of my A2 card and used a corner chomper to give it a decorative corner.  I used distress ink on the card, frame and some parts of the little girl image and then assembled everything on my card with pop dots.

To finish I added some stickle dots and hearts, a heart outline sticker and two paper flowers from my stash.

I Love You Shaker Card ~

 Shaker cards are one of the things that used to amaze me when I first started to rubber stamp.  I thought they looked so amazingly cool and complicated!  I still love them and I enjoy making them.  I knew when I saw that some of Globecraft & Piccolo’s Accent sets included adorable little frames that many a shaker card would be born! And again, I created a card showing my love of using the nontraditional for holiday cards - you could make this for any holiday or just because! 

To make this card I used: 

• 4 ¼ x 5 ½ Matte Gold Cardstock
• Piece of acetate
• I Love You rubber stamp from Great Impressions, #C230
• Ranger Archival ink in Jet Black
• Piece of scrap white cardstock (to stamp sentiment on)
• Frame from Fine Flower Vines Flourish Accents, A105 
• 2 pcs. From Medium Flourishes Accents, A139 
• 2 pcs. From Steampunk Airship Accents, A100 
• Enamel & Embossing Powder Adhesive Fluid 
• Aged White Embossing Enamel 
• Vintage Gold Embossing Enamel 
• E600 Adhesive 
• Crafters Pick The Ultimate Glue 
• Foam Tape
• Filler for shaker, I used gold heart sequins and glitter
• Krylon Leafing Pen in 14k Gold 

 

The frame I used - check out all the others!!

First thing I did was stamp my sentiment on a piece of scrap white cardstock, then I cut it a bit smaller than an ATC – yes, the frames are ATC sized! – and made sure it fit the frame properly.  Set that aside.

Take your frame and cover with Embossing Powder Adhesive Fluid and emboss with Aged White Embossing Enamel, I embossed my frame twice and left it a bit bumpy, covering the frame with the embossing powder adhesive in between layers. If you prefer a smooth finish just keep repeating the embossing steps and heating until it becomes smooth – it shouldn’t take any more than 3 or 4 times to make the finish smooth.  I then edged the frame with my Krylon Leafing Pen in 14k gold, both the inside and the outside of the frame. 

Next, I glued the acetate window into the frame.  For me this is a tricky part because you really don’t want any fingerprints, or glue, to show on the acetate – luckily the piece I used had some tissue paper on one side and it was already cut to fit an ATC so it worked fine.  I used Crafters Pick to attach the acetate to the frame.  Set this aside so it can dry thoroughly, I typically wait until the next day, but that is because I do most of my crafting in the wee hours. 

Once your frame is dry it’s time to build the walls that are going to stop your filler from spilling all over the place.  I have some old foam tape that I use and I always use 2 layers so I can ensure the frame will be deep enough and I can sill in all the spots that may be an opening.  Since my tape is old, I use glue in between my 2 layers just to make sure it sticks to the frame and to each other.

Once my walls are built I put the frame under something medium weight, a book for example, and leave it there for a few hours to ensure I have a good bond.  Keep in mind how deep (high) your walls are when selecting filler – you can’t loose with sequins or glitter.  Because my color theme is gold and it’s a “love” card I chose some gold heart shaped sequins and some prisma glitter for my filler.  I put them in the center of my scrap where I stamped my sentiment.  This way you can see where you are attaching the frame. A few dabs of glue and attach your back to your frame. 

  

I glued my completed shaker onto my card that I made from the matte gold cardstock.  Then I took the accents I had chosen (both sets of Accents I used have a bunch of cute flourishes to choose from) and embossed those with the Vintage Gold embossing enamel, again embossing both twice.  After I was done, I used E600 glue to attach the Accents to the card because the cardstock was a bit slick.  I finished by edging the card with the Krylon Leafing Pen, again in the 14k gold, and I was done!

He who has the key....

Hiya everyone, Tracy here sharing another of my projects. 

Now as Valentines day is creeping up I decided to spread a little bit of love and make a Vintage style Pendant using one of the awesome Acrylic Craft Charms

I am really happy how this turned out. Here is how I made it...

1. I made my own backing paper (It reads he who holds the key to my heart) and crumpled it up and then distressed it and rubber some gold wax around the edges, this was then glued onto the Bezel. 

2. I then took one of the hearts from Keys to my Heart Piccolo set and gave it two layers of Ruby Red Slippers Enamel Powder...The below picture shows just how beautiful this Enamel powder is. 

3. I also used one of the keys from Keys to my heart Piccolo Set and used Copper Kettle Enamel Powder...I only gave this one rough layer as I wanted it to have an old look to it

4. I then took Instant UV resin and put a fine layer down and placed the heart and key into it, I then left it on my window sil for a few mins to set, i then gave it another coat and again left on window sil to set....I love this product ! A definite must have, I wanted a old look to this whole thing so was very "rough" with how i applied the resin, I also wanted to create a look like you get with Amber and you have items floating and bubbles etc...I was very wary about doing it but I think it has work just how i pictured it would. 

This picture shows just how fab the shine is on the resin. I simply then added some vintage ribbon to finish it off.

Not your everyday Valentine's Day wreath

Hello all! It's Arin here and I'm back to share a sweet Valentine's Day wreath idea with you combining Globecraft and Piccolo products and an everyday household item you probably have lying around in your laundry room!

Love is in the air and so is my obsession love for clothespin wreaths. I wish this idea was my own, but sadly no. However, I saw the idea a while back and have been holding out making one specifically for Valentine's Day, using some of my favorite Globecraft and Piccolo products!

• 6 inch wire wreath (found at local craft store)
• Rust-olium Painter Touch White Gloss Spray Paint
• 19 wooden clothespins
• Gesso white acrylic primer paint
• Close to My Heart - Embroidery Floss Baby Pink and Cranberry
• Recycled 1 1/2 inch ribbon from a gift from Pottery Barn Kids
• Heat Gun
• Foam paint brush
• Scissors
• Straight pin

Step 1: Prepping the wire wreath and clothespins:
Using a white spray paint, paint the wire wreath 2 coats per side and set aside. Prep clothespins by applying two coats of Gesso acrylic primer paint with a foam brush and let dry.

Step 2: Applying Piccolo Enamel 3D Gel to clothespins and Globlecraft and Piccolo book board charms: Apply Piccolo's Berry Red and Pink Rose 3D Enamel Gel to four clothespin tops and set aside to dry. Then apply Piccolo's Berry Red 3D Enamel Gel to one each of the mini hearts and mini keys from the Globecraft and Piccolo My Heart Charm Set. To assist in applying the 3D Enamel Gel to both the mini heart and key, use a straight pin. Set aside to dry. Repeat on other side.

Step 3: Applying Glastique Matte Finishing Glaze and Glitter to clothespins: Apply Glastique Matte Finishing Glaze to the top surface of of 3 clothespins, then dust each with glitter (used for this project was tinsel glitter, fine glitter and course glitter) and remove excess glitter and set aside to set and dry.

Step 4: Applying Embossing Enamel to clothespins and book board charms: Using Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive apply one coat to two clothespin top surfaces and to the mini heart and key charms from the My Heart Charm Set. Dust each with Piccolo Poodle Skirt Enamel Powder and use tweezers to handle the mini heart and key charm remove excess enamel powder. Set with a heat gun and let cool and then repeat the heat enamel process again two more times starting with the Piccolo Embossing Enamel each time (this will add a nice smooth texture, amazing depth of color, sparkle and dimension to the charms and clothespin surfaces). Once set and cool, repeat on other side of the key and heart. Once enamel powder is set and cool on both clothespins and charms, apply Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to each area that has enamel powder (use straight pin to assist in applying Glastique on mini charms). Set aside to dry.

Step 5: Adding Washi tape to clothes pins: Using nine clothespins, secure the washi tape to the top surface of each clothespin and trim all edges to size to the top surface (lining up one edge of the washi tape to one side of the clothespin and trimming down the excess is a quick and easy method to this process).

Step 6: Securing clothespins to wreath and adding final touches: Once all components are ready, begin to assemble the wreath by attaching the clothespins inward clipping them to the first three wire rows in a pattern of choice, leaving about an 1 1/2 inch gap at the top of wreath for the charms and hanging ribbon. Using embroidery floss, hang the mini hearts and keys to the open 1 1/2 inch area (be sure to secure the heart and key by knotting it at the top of the charms). Loop the ribbon through the wreath and it is ready to be displayed.

Wearable Valentine's Day Bling

Hello! Tracy here again with another tutorial this time using Globecraft and Piccolo for a little bit of Valentine's Day wearable bling! As you already know Piccolo bookboard charms come in all shapes and sizes, but did you know their lovely heart shape jewelry and card decor kits are just perfect for Valentine's Day crafts?

Supplies:

• G&P Key to My Heart Charm Set H006
• G&P Keys to My Heart Accents H009
• G&P Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze
• G&P Ruby Red Slippers Embossing Powder
• G&P 24K Gold Embossing Powder
• G&P Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive
• Piccolo Easy Grip Tweezers
• Gold Bail
• Red Real Silk Cord Necklace with Lobster Claw Clasp
• Red crystal stickers
• Gold jumprings
• 2 Earring wires
• Flat nose pliers

Carefully remove all of the Piccolos from the chipboard frames. Separate the large heart, the two small lock hearts and the large keys from the keys shown. Place all of the other pieces to the side for Steampunk Valentine, check out my blog for that tutorial. :)

I applied Embossing Powder Adhesive to the hearts and keys. Then I coated the keys with 24K Gold Embossing Powder and the hearts with Ruby Red Slippers Enamel Powder, heat to set.

Use Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to glue on the red sticker gems to the keys and hearts as shown. Let dry.

Carefully apply Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to the front of all the elements. Let dry. Repeat for the back of all of the pieces.

Open up jump rings and put one through each of the loops on small heart locks and keys, close jump rings.

Add a mini jump ring to the earring wire and attach to the jumpring on the heart lock, repeat for the other earring. Add three tiny jumprings (in succession) to the jumpring on the large key and attach to heart lock. Repeat for the other earring.

Open the gold bail and put it through the loop on the large heart locket. String on the silk cord necklace and crimp the bail shut.

You can give the jewelry set as a Valentine or wear it to be festive!
